Purpose:
To protect individuals who report suspected illegal or unethical behavior within The Robbery Investigators of Texas and ensure concerns are handled confidentially and without retaliation.
 
Scope:
This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, board members, and contractors.
 
Protected Activities: 
Examples of reportable activities include:
  • Fraud or financial mismanagement
  • Violations of laws or regulations
  • Discrimination or harassment
  • Unsafe working conditions
 
Reporting Process:
  • How to Report - Concerns can be reported to the Executive Director via email, phone, or in person. Anonymous reports are accepted.
  • Alternative Contact - If the designated officer is involved, reports may be directed to President or board chair.
 
Confidentiality:
All reports will be handled confidentially to the extent possible, and information will be shared only with those who need to investigate the matter.
 
No Retaliation Policy:
Robbery Investigators of Texas, Inc. strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith. Retaliation may result in disciplinary action, including termination.
 
Investigation Process:
  • Report Acknowledgment: 3 to 5 days
  • Preliminary Review: 7 to 14 days
  • Full Investigation: 30 to 60 days (depending on the complexity)
  • Final Resolution Communication: Within 90 days
 
An impartial investigation will be conducted, and findings will be communicated to the board.
Appropriate corrective actions will be taken if misconduct is confirmed.
 
Review and Amendments:
​This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed.
